‘Leanne’s Worst Book’ is a gentle children’s picture book about self-doubt, creativity, and learning that maybe we don’t have to be anything other than ourselves.
The story follows a small book who wonders what it might become – funny, serious, colourful, or quiet -and slowly begins to realise that simply being itself might be enough.
Written for children aged 5–8, the book opens up conversations about confidence, imagination, and the courage to share your ideas.
This book has been created for:
– children who doubt their ideas before they begin
– classrooms exploring social emotional learning (SEL)
– parents wanting gentle conversations about confidence
– teachers looking for thoughtful read-aloud stories
– young writers and creators who need encouragement to keep going
I see it used as a starting point for conversations about self-belief, creativity, and emotional literacy.
Many children learn very early to question whether their ideas are “good enough”.
‘Leanne’s Worst Book’ offers a softer message – that ideas don’t have to be perfect to matter.
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply begin.
Alongside writing, I am passionate about creating spaces where children and adults feel encouraged to express themselves.
I regularly shares spoken word, storytelling, and reflective talks centred around:
– confidence and creativity
– emotional resilience
– self-expression through writing
– encouraging children to share their ideas
I love to combine storytelling, spoken word, and thoughtful conversation, creating a warm and engaging experience for all eg.schools, community groups, and parent spaces.
If ‘Leanne’s Worst Book’ finds its way into the hands of a child who needs it, then it has done exactly what it was meant to do.
